Overview

The Masai Mara National Reserve is a vast, iconic savannah wilderness in southwestern Kenya, widely considered one of Africa's greatest and most spectacular wildlife destinations. It forms the northernmost extension of the famed Serengeti ecosystem. The Mara is synonymous with the annual Great Migration, a breathtaking natural phenomenon where over 1.5 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle undertake a perilous journey from the Serengeti in search of fresh grazing, culminating in dramatic river crossings at the crocodile-infested Mara River.

Beyond the migration, the Mara is a year-round haven for an astonishing density of wildlife, including the renowned Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros), as well as cheetahs, hyenas and giraffes. The landscape of rolling golden grasslands, dotted with acacia trees and bisected by rivers, provides the quintessential African safari experience.

The reserve is also defined by its deep cultural heritage, being the ancestral home of the semi-nomadic Maasai people. Day 01: Pick up at JKIA or hotel and drive to Masai Mara National Reserve

You will be picked at the airport or your hotel of stay in Nairobi and commence drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. Have a stopover at the great Rift Valley view point where you will have a breathtaking view of the floor of the Rift Valley.  Arrive for check in and hot lunch at lodge or camp. After lunch, embark on afternoon game drive in the reserve in search of the big 5. Thereafter, return to the camp at dusk for dinner and overnight stay at lodge or camp.

Day 02: Full day will be spent exploring Masai Mara National Reserve

Rise early for a sunrise Mara game drive, the best time to witness predators in action and the savannah coming alive. After the morning adventure, enjoy a memorable bush breakfast set in the heart of the wild, surrounded by breathtaking scenery of the Mara river rich in hippos and Nile crocodile.

Day 03: Drive to Nairobi

After breakfast check out and drive back to Nairobi, reflecting on the incredible memories made over the past few days.  Upon arrival you will be transferred to JKIA for your flight home or hotel of stay in Nairobi.
