Day 1: Drive Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve

You will be picked up from Nairobi hotel or from JKIA by our professional guide in a private jeep 4x4 Land Cruiser. Drive through the Great Rift Valley south to Masai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch and check-in at the Lodge or Camp.

Later in the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive in the Mara famous for big cats, dramatic plains and abundant wildlife. Return to Lodge or Camp for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Full Day Exploring Masai Mara National Reserve.

Start your morning with a delicious breakfast while enjoying the soft sunrise lighting the wide golden plains of the Mara. After breakfast, depart for a morning game drive offering great opportunities to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and numerous bird species. The rolling savannah and acacia dotted landscapes create iconic photography scenes, with predators and prey interacting naturally throughout the reserve.

Stop at a strategic picnic site inside the reserve to enjoy your packed bush lunch surrounded by nature. Later in the afternoon, Continue searching for wildlife during the cooler hours of the day when wildlife becomes more active. End the day with a magical Mara sundowner experience. As the sun sets, return to your Lodge or Camp for relaxation, a hearty dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Drive From Masai Mara – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, check out and drive south toward the Tanzania border crossing and continue your scenic journey into Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations famed for endless grass plains and the world’s greatest animal migrations. Arrive in time for lunch at Lodge or Camp, beautifully located overlooking sweeping savannah landscapes ideal for wildlife viewing.

In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxed wilderness introduction game drive close to the lodge plains, where predators and grazers often converge around natural water pockets. Return to Lodge or Camp for dinner and overnight stay as the sun sets over the endless Serengeti horizons.

Day 4: Full Day Serengeti National Park

Start your morning with an early bush breakfast setup out in the wild open plains of the Serengeti as the sun rises, painting the horizon in spectacular colors. After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive that offers great opportunities to see lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, hyenas, wildebeest herds and diverse birdlife across the endless plains. The rocky kopjes, sweeping grasslands and riverine sections provide excellent photography environments and close encounters.

Stop mid-day for a scenic bush picnic lunch before continuing your exploration deeper into predator territories and migration paths. Later in the afternoon, head out again during the cooler sunset hours when predators actively hunt. As the sun sinks into the vast horizon, return to Lodge for relaxation, a hearty dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Drive Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, check out and drive through Serengeti’s rolling plains toward the Ngorongoro highlands, transitioning from vast open savannah to lush volcanic escarpments and forested slopes. Arrive in time for lunch at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge perched on the crater rim with spectacular panoramic views into the ancient caldera below.

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided crater rim viewpoint walk, capturing dramatic photo opportunities and learning about the geological and ecological history of Ngorongoro. Return to Lodge for dinner and overnight stay as evening mist forms over the crater.

Day 6: Drive From Ngorongoro – Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, check out and journey down toward Lake Manyara National Park, known for its diverse ecosystems, thick groundwater forests and seasonal flamingo concentrations. Arrive in time for lunch at Lodge with stunning views toward the Rift Valley escarpment.

In the afternoon, explore the lush groundwater forest region on a relaxed game drive, offering a chance to spot elephants, primates, exotic birdlife, and possibly tree-climbing lions resting on thick branches. Return to for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Drive From Lake Manyara – Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, check out and drive toward the Kenya border, transitioning north into Amboseli National Park beneath the towering snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. Arrive in time for lunch at Lodge or Camp, strategically positioned to overlook active waterholes frequently visited by elephants and plains game.

In the afternoon, settle into the Amboseli rhythm with a relaxed waterhole viewing session or short scenic drive for sunset photography with Kilimanjaro as your background. Return to Lodge or Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Full Day Exploring Amboseli National Park

Start your morning with a delicious breakfast to catch the golden light of sunrise over Kilimanjaro. After breakfast, depart for a morning game drive across Amboseli’s open plains offering great opportunities to see elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes and numerous bird species. The park’s swamps and acacia woodlands provide excellent photography backdrops and sightings of hippos and buffalo.

Enjoy your packed bush lunch at a scenic designated picnic area within the park while appreciating uninterrupted views of Kilimanjaro. Continue with an afternoon game drive during the cooler hours of the day when wildlife gathers near water sources. As the sun sets behind Kilimanjaro, return to Lodge for relaxation, a hearty dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9: Drive From Amboseli – Nairobi

After breakfast, check out and drive back to Nairobi where you will be dropped off at your hotel or JKIA for your onward travel. This marks the end of your East Africa Serena safari adventure – with lifelong memories across two world-class safari nations.
