DAY 1: MOMBASA →SALT LICK SAFARI LODGE
The safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or beach resort in Mombasa, followed by a scenic drive along the Mombasa–Nairobi highway toward the picturesque Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, where you arrive at the iconic Salt Lick Safari Lodge for check-in and lunch, after which you enjoy a relaxed afternoon at leisure taking in panoramic views of the sanctuary and the surrounding hills, while the lodge’s elevated decks overlook a popular waterhole that frequently attracts elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, lions, and a variety of antelope species, creating excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, before returning to the lodge before sunset for a memorable dinner and an overnight stay.
DAY 2: TSAVO EAST → MOMBASA
After an early morning breakfast at the lodge, enjoy a breathtaking sunrise view as you depart Salt Lick Safari Lodge, then proceed toward Tsavo East National Park, where upon arrival you begin an exciting game drive through the park’s vast open savannahs and dramatic landscapes, offering excellent opportunities to spot Tsavo’s famous red elephants, as well as lions, giraffes, zebras, and other plains game, including a visit to key highlights such as Aruba Dam (time permitting), after which you proceed to the lodge for lunch, followed by a short period of relaxation, before embarking on a final game drive while exiting the park, and later enjoy a comfortable drive back to Mombasa, arriving in the evening for drop-off at your hotel or beach resort.
