Cancellation And Refund Policy
At Cross Wild Safaris, we value your trust and are committed to offering flexible, transparent, and traveler-friendly terms. Our goal is to ensure that your safari planning is smooth, secure, and stress-free.
1.Booking & Payment Terms
1.1 Reservation Confirmation
A booking is considered confirmed once:
- A deposit of 20% of the total safari cost has been received.
- The client receives a written confirmation from Cross Wild Safaris.
1.2 Balance Payment
- The remaining 80% balance is due at least 0-14 days before the safari start date.
- For last-minute bookings (within 0-15 days), full payment is required immediately.
1.3 Payment Methods
We accept:
- Bank transfers
- M-Pesa
- Credit/Debit cards
- Jenga Pay
- Secure online payment links provided by our office
All payment details will be shared upon request.
2. Cancellation Policy
We understand that unexpected changes happen. Our cancellation terms aim to be as fair as possible:
2.1 Cancellations Made by the Client
- 30+ days before travel: Full refund minus 10% administrative fee
- 15–29 days before travel: 50% refund of the total amount paid
- 0–14 days before travel or no-show: No refund
2.2 Cancellation Due to Medical or Serious Emergencies
Cross Wild Safaris may, at its discretion, offer:
- A reschedule at no extra cost, OR
- A partial refund, depending on supplier policies.
Supporting documentation may be required.
3. Refund Policy
3.1 Eligibility
Refunds will be processed based on:
- Our cancellation terms above
- Non-refundable supplier fees (e.g., park fees, hotel cancellation charges)
3.2 Refund Processing Time
- All approved refunds are processed within 7–14 business days.
- Refunds are issued through the original payment method unless requested otherwise.
3.3 Non-Refundable Components
Some services are non-refundable once booked, including:
- National Park fees
- Gorilla/Chimp permits
- Hotel bookings with strict non-refundable policies
We will always inform you in advance of any non-refundable items.
4. Amendments & Rescheduling
4.1 Date Changes by the Client
- More than 14 days before travel: Free date change (subject to availability).
- Less than 14 days before travel: Date change fees may apply based on hotel/park policies.
4.2 Amendments by Cross Wild Safaris
If Cross Wild Safaris must make changes due to unforeseen circumstances (weather, park closures, political events), we will:
- Offer an equivalent alternative, OR
- Provide a refund for the affected service portion only.
5. Safari Alterations During Travel
If a client chooses to:
- End the safari early,
- Skip activities, or
- Make voluntary changes during the trip,
No refunds will be issued for unused services already booked and confirmed.
6. No-Show Policy
Clients who fail to show up on the travel date without prior notice will be treated as no-shows and no refund will apply.
7. Travel Insurance
We highly recommend that all guests take out personal travel insurance to cover:
- Medical emergencies
- Lost baggage
- Delays
This protects you from unexpected financial loss.
8. Force Majeure
Cross Wild Safaris is not liable for cancellations or changes caused by:
- Natural disasters
- Border closures
- Strikes
- Epidemics
- Government actions
- Any events beyond our control
However, we always strive to offer fair alternative solutions where possible.
