Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru via Lake Naivasha

You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport between 7:30 and 8:00 AM by our professional safari guide in a private 4x4 Land Cruiser (Jeep). Depart the city and begin your journey along the scenic Great Rift Valley, pausing at a viewpoint to enjoy breathtaking views of the valley floor. Arriving at Lake Naivasha, you will embark on a boat ride across the scenery freshwater lake. As you glide along the calm waters, you will have close encounters with hippos, watch for fish eagles diving for their catch, and observe a rich variety of water birds in their natural habitat. This peaceful cruise offers a perfect introduction to Kenya’s wildlife and scenic beauty.

For those interested in a bit more adventure, an optional cycling or hiking excursion in Hell’s Gate National Park can be arranged. Explore dramatic volcanic cliffs, gorges, and open plains where wildlife like zebras and giraffes roam freely, either on foot or by bike. After the activity, lunch is served at a lodge or restaurant in Naivasha. In the afternoon, continue your drive north to Lake Nakuru, arriving by evening in time for check-in. Check-in at Sopa Lodge or a similar mid-range lodge for relaxation, a hearty dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive in Lake Nakuru National park and drive to Masai Mara

Rise early for breakfast before heading into the spectacular Lake Nakuru National Park for a morning game drive. This park is renowned not only for its stunning flocks of pink flamingos that often fringe the lake but also as a crucial sanctuary for both black and white rhinos. As you explore the park’s lush acacia woodlands and open grasslands, keep an eye out for the elegant Rothschild’s giraffes one of the rarest giraffe subspecies, easily recognizable by their distinctive coat patterns.

After your morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, return to Sopa Lodge or a similar mid-range lodge for check out. Then Begin your journey southwest towards the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve with lunch on the way, arriving in the late afternoon. Here you will check in at Sopa Lodge or a similar mid-range lodge close to the reserve for relaxation, a hearty dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Full-Day Game Drive in Masai Mara

Rise early for breakfast before heading for a full-day game drive in the world-renowned Masai Mara, Kenya’s crown jewel of wildlife conservation. With our guide and packed picnic lunch, spend the day exploring the Mara’s endless plains and riverine forests, tracking the Big Five and witnessing the abundant wildlife that makes this ecosystem so spectacular. Depending on the season, you may catch part of the Great Migration, with herds of wildebeest and zebras crossing the Mara River or roaming in vast numbers across the savannah. Midday, enjoy your picnic lunch under the shade of an acacia tree, taking in the sights and sounds of the wilderness around you.

As the afternoon light softens, your guide will take you to a specially selected viewpoint for a sundowner experience an iconic safari tradition. Sip on a chilled drink as you watch the sun melt into the horizon, casting golden light over the sweeping landscape. Return to Sopa Lodge or a similar mid-range lodge in the late evening for relaxation, a hearty dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Drive to Nairobi

After breakfast, you will visit an authentic Maasai village located near the reserve. This guided cultural experience is a core part of your itinerary. Meet Maasai elders and warriors, learn about their traditions, daily life, and customs, and enjoy traditional dances and a tour of their homesteads (manyattas).

After the village visit, begin the journey back to Nairobi. Upon arrival in the late afternoon or early evening, you will be dropped off at your hotel or at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) marking the end of your unforgettable 4-day safari.
